Overview
As a resident of the San Francisco Bay Area, Kathie Fitzpatrick, a Baby Boomer child, grew up appreciating the region's natural beauty and unique color. From taking the family on beach vacations in northern California to touring the region's now-famous monuments. From her father, Henry, taking her to lunch at the renowned Cathay House in Chinatown when she was a little girl, to her mother, Ruby, taking her and her siblings to the historic "Playland at the Beach," where the famous 18-foot character, "laughing Sal," would greet everyone who arrived, to the San Francisco Zoo and Golden Gate Park, Kathie had wonderful childhood memories in the San Francisco area.
