What we do for our customers, is provide full services to assist and work with their developers, POs and managers and maintain their production systems.
We work with all kinds of Linux-based systems, CentOS, Ubuntu, MySQL, PostgreSQL, Percona, etc. and provide 24/7 support and monitoring, as well as backups, patches and updates
We decide on a model that works for you, what the deployment procedure would be, automation software, versions, development environments, provisioning etc. We fine tune until everyone is happy with the setup. Some of our clients prefer to auto deploy to live on every git commit, and others have dev/staging/pre-production and live environments with unit tests, selenium, behat etc. This makes us quite experienced with all types of development processes and we take part in every step.
After the deployment process is agreed on, we take care of monitoring the live systems 24/7 and proactively act on alerts.
We use a lot of software for this purpose, such as Collectd, Grafana, Zabbix, Check_MK, Nagios, Munin, Pushover etc. And we strive to be up-to-date will all the latest changes and use the latest versions.
For security we employ very strict rules, full logs, 2FA on systems we SSH, automatic security alerts (CVE monitoring). We also set up every system on a "need to access" basis, so every port is blocked unless needed. Independently of each system's own IPtables/PF firewall, we also set up an additional Juniper firewall. On critical systems, upon customer request, we can set up tripwire, OSSec, Samhain, Snort etc for additional security.
